‘GAYA’ coined from the combination of the name of the Creative Director – Gayatri Khanna and the Greek name ‘Gaia’- the Goddess of the Earth, draws a lot of inspiration from nature, the earth and the flora and fauna for its contemporary collection. Chic feminine silhouettes with striking, bold prints and innovative embellishment for women, urban and modern styles for men and a fresh and fun look for children, the brand cater to all . These teamed with a fresh colour-palette are the USPs of the brand. To sum up the brand’s spirit- a modern, fresh, vibrant label that makes a strong statement.



History of Gaya

GAYA is a division of Milaaya Embroideries It has been conceived to utilize the resources, sustainable manufacturing processes and experience of 20 years that Milaaya has and take these to the next level by creating a more wholistic fashion brand that will design and create its own line of luxury ready to wear garments and accessories. Milaaya Embroideries is one of the leading hand beading and embroidery houses in India, duly audited and compliant. Milaaya Embroideries was incorporated in the US and India in 2000. From then to now, it has expanded its base over fashion capitals of New York, Milan, Paris and London with the head-office and factory in Mumbai. Milaaya designs and manufactures embroidered and embellished finished garments and accessories for leading fashion houses across the world. Some of the high-end luxury brands include Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Etro, Oscar De La Renta, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Balmain, Paco Rabanne and many more. Milaaya also works with contemporary fashion brands like Pinko, MaxMara, MSGM, Alice and Olivia, Temperley London among others. This has helped Milaaya keep up-to date with the global fashion trends and forecasts. Milaaya embellished garments are adorned by celebrities and A-listers every quite often.

Ethical Sourcing and Manufacturing Process

A home-grown brand, GAYA strongly advocates and follows ethical sourcing and manufacturing process. The vertically integrated factory with the Design and Sampling team, Stitching Atelier, Embroidery Atelier, CAD department, Quality Control department, Shipping and Packaging and an in-house Raw Materials store, is exactly equipped to help GAYA achieve the same. This helps GAYA control the quality of each product made and maintain a transparent supply chain. GAYA’s 15,000 square feet factory, in the heart of Mumbai, is duly audited by Intertek. GAYA provides the same benefits to the embroidery beaders and tailors, as we do to our other employees. They work in hygienic and comfortable working premises, they clock in eight hours a day, they have EPF benefits and also attend training and seminars from time to time.

Manufacturing and Packaging process

Paying homage to our mother earth, which is reflected in the brand logo, sustainability plays an important part in the supply chain, manufacturing and packaging process. Each step of the creation from drawing inspirations, to designing, to the production and packaging is taken thoughtfully and diligently by our skilled teams.
